Chiropractic Services
Many people will choose to see a chiropractor for relief of pain including common back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sciatica. These problems may be driven by poor posture due to work-related ergonomics such as sitting for long periods, standing for long periods, or even repetitive activities.
These problems may also be caused by day-to-day activities such as gardening, sport, and picking up the kids to name a few.
Pain does not discriminate but it can have a significant impact on your lifestyle in addition to the things that you love being able to do now and in the future.
At Young Chiropractic we can help you assess the underlying reason why you have pain and work with you to provide a solution.
What does a Chiropractor do?
A chiropractor is a healthcare professional who specialises in the health and function of the spine and nervous system. Because of this focus on the spine, many people think chiropractors can only help with back pain, neck pain, and headaches. They can often help with these issues, but there is much more to chiropractic than just pain.
This is the first video in our animated series “Introduction to Chiropractic.” In this video, we outline what a chiropractor does, then we briefly explore the effects of care. It is a perfect one to watch for anyone curious about chiropractic care and how it can help their family.

Your First Visit
We know how important it is for your spine and nervous system to be working well so you can function at your best.
We will first spend some time finding out your health concerns, your health history and what you want to achieve from a health and lifestyle perspective.
How Are You Functioning?
We check your spinal, global mobility and how your nervous system is functioning. We want to know how well you move, your strength and how well your nervous system is communicating with the rest of the body through specifically designed tests. This is often the first time, for many people, that they have had such a detailed examination and assessment. We aim to be thorough and detailed so we know exactly how to get you the best results.
Based on these outcomes we may refer you for additional tests, including imaging such as X-rays to give us the complete picture of your health and function right now.
Vertebral Subluxation
Because of the close relationship between the spine and the nervous system, every day strains can impact the flow of information and communication between the brain and the body. Messages may not be delivered to the brain, or they may be inaccurate. When that miscommunication occurs due to abnormal movement in the spine, chiropractors call this a ‘vertebral subluxation’, or a “chiropractic subluxation”.
You might hear it again from your chiropractor – so now you know what it means.
Putting It Together
This is where we can assimilate all this information and make our best recommendations to get the best outcomes as quickly as possible based on your goals and lifestyle.
Let's Get Started!
Now that you have decided to start ………what is involved?
If you are an adult, you may experience a variety of chiropractic spinal adjustment techniques that range from gentle pressure to specific spinal manual adjustments. Sometimes you will experience some shifting of fluids and gasses in the joint that will create some sound. Sometimes there will be no sound at all. Our chiropractor’s have a wide range of techniques to suit every individual.
Some of your care may also include assessment and care involving the extremities including arms, hands, hips, knees, legs and feet in addition to other therapy to assist with the adaptive process of healing.
If you are bringing in an infant or child, our techniques are very gentle and often only require very light body work to make a correction. Kids often respond very quickly so may require less intensive care than adults that have many years of injury, poor posture and trauma to the body.
